Rosneft to include oil output reduction into Druzhba losses

MOSCOW, Aug 12 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft plans to calculate losses from the Druzhba oil pipeline incident taking into account a consequent reduction of oil output, it said in a report seen by PRIME on August 10.

“Calculation of the losses that Rosneft suffered may be concluded only after a comprehensive conclusion of a full-scale estimate of the incident’s impact on the company’s operations, including forced downtime in oil production at the moment due to Transneft’s reduction of intake of oil into its pipeline system, and after receipt of a full documented sum of claims from our counteragents and their resending to Transneft with demand of compensation,” the company said.

In April–June, Rosneft received several complaints from buyers of oil that they received crude severely contaminated with chlorines or did not receive the contracted amount of oil, while the were no problems with the amount or quality of oil that Rosneft pumped into Transneft’s system, the company said.

The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared in April. In Belarus, the pipeline splits into two stings, of which one goes to Poland and Germany, and the other to Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary. Good-quality oil deliveries resumed in early May, but there is still dirty oil in the facility.
